People install fences for a couple of reasons. One could be to cover the swimming pool area or to define the backyard. It could also be to make the garden area look more structured or simply to add a beautiful touch to the property that would increase its real estate price.
Regardless of the purpose of installation, there are some common errors that people go on to commit. Prior knowledge about commonly committed mistakes would be helpful in right execution of your next fence project.
The biggest mistake that amateurs run into is failing to correctly draw the property lines. Mark off the boundaries so that you don’t end up installing the fence on neighbor’s property. Also don’t end up installing it too near the house or else you may have to redo it entirely. If you are going to perform installation on your own, then at least hire a professional to help draw lines. This way you can avoid making costly errors.
Next thing to remember is to put the posts rightly as they are the most crucial part of this project. If the posts are not put deep enough inside the ground or if they are not anchored with right material it could collapse very easily in the near future.
Make sure to place the posts at least 2 feet deep in the ground. Be sure to anchor them by a good layer of concrete and gravel. Depending on your need and the type of land, you can choose to go a few more inches deeper and use a thicker concrete layer.
